E 'since the Roman Empire that we Italians are unable to implement a foreign policy worthy of the name and the events of those days bear out the theory.
We met to sign a treaty of friendship with Libya's Gaddafi (with kiss included) not more than two years ago.
Today we meet with Muammar that when faced with a rebellion that is internal?
What would any monarch uses the force to defeat it (perhaps in too "rough" ... but we know the type).
International diplomacy behaves as usual: wait.
He expects that the rebels have the upper hand and when, in fact, their last stronghold to fall is here ... only then that action is taken.
And the Italians?
beginning of the story ... we are silent and do nothing.
When you understand that Gaddafi use an iron fist to suppress the protest ... sboffonchiamo and do nothing.
When you rise up the chorus of condemnation of diplomacy ... we queued (gently) and do nothing.
France manages the attack on Libya ... and we do nothing (allowing only the use of military bases).
How will it end?
That we, not having done anything, we will cut off from the speech "investment" post-Gaddafi.
In return we will have to undertake the large share of humanitarian aid.
